  • Only eat when hungry.
  • Combine protein and whole grain carbohydrates at every meal to balance blood sugar.
  • Don't drink alcohol on an empty stomach.
  • Don't eat processed food, or anything that has ingredients that you can't understand.
  • Use a steamer where possible instead of the microwave.
  • Reduce tea and coffee and drink more water.
  • Reduce sugar significantly - its full of empty calories.
  • Eat fruit first thing or on it's own as a snack to prevent fermentation and gas in the stomach.
  • Eat five fruit and vegetables per day - seven if possible.
  • Don't go for low fat, go for good fat found in fish, nuts and seeds, olive oil.
  • Don't eat when stressed.
  • Eat much slower and chew your food more thoroughly to reduce the rate at which insulin is released.
